on your feet, (by far the hardest part), there is no need now to stop

know to safely tackle the winter hills of the UK.

exposure, but we will be working on ground maybe as steep as 45 degrees.

This is our winter skills course for those looking to go beyond the basics whilst simultaneously looking for further adventure overseas. With cheap flights now available to Morocco, and consistently reliable snow, what better place is there to learn the craft of winter mountaineering?
This course will take you progressively through the skills of winter mountaineering and will aim to cover the following topics:
- Ice axe and crampon work
- Ice axe arrest
- Avalanche risk assessment
- Snow anchors, belays and rope skills
- Use of avalanche tranceivers
- Glacier travel and crevasse rescue
- Emergency snowshelters/survival
- Terrain – ridges, rocky steps, cornices, steep snow
(possibly Grade 1)
- Mountaineering decision making
These lessons will be incorporated into mountain days, hopefully taking in some great High Atlas summits.
